Laine&Roberts: By The Winds of Liepaja Wedding

“To the moon and back” is about their day! Before you dive in this story, let me tell you that every couple somehow reflect themselves in pictures and that`s the magic I usually don`t try to control. Every couple radiate energy which is important source for me to capture in the most delicate form. So, this wedding, no matter of fact that is was 2 days long, charged all my inner and creative “batteries”!

Laine and Roberts are adventurous and loving couple from Liepaja -city of winds bounded by Baltic sea. Morning of July 13th was really warm, sun was shining and all the good vibrations took place in rustic and beautiful place in Grīnvalti, guest house “Atomi”, located 4km from Liepāja. They had 2 day scenario including traditional wedding fire ritual called “vedības” or Latvian traditional ritual of getting married. Ancient Latvians believed that covenants were made both on earth and in heaven, because they were blessed with all the elements of nature: earth, wind, water and fire :the most powerful element in communicating with God. It was a sacral and intimate part of wedding and as a photographer I always appreciate when couples choose to do their own thing in the mix of old and new traditions. The leader or host of ceremony – Sandra Strēle also took important part of giving all the right instructions and symbols of these 4 elements. Evening came with a party and activities by event planner Krāsu Karuselis

First day of Wedding we went to the beach of Bernāti, where some crazy photoshoot ideas by Laine &Roberts were made.
